Vote for the best TE in the area.

Voting for both the Times Herald’s All-Blue Water Area boys and girls basketball teams were so well-received earlier this year that we’ve brought back the fan vote again.

This time YOU can decide who the top football players are in the greater Port Huron area, as we’ll post a daily poll on the Time Herald’s website featuring a different position group. Be sure to visit our website every day at lunchtime to see the new polls.

However, we’ve made a few changes to the fan vote.

First, polls are now hosted on Twitter to curb the rampant cheating that we had in March with our previous poll host. In order for your vote to count, you must sign up for Twitter and vote on the poll hosted by Times Herald sports reporter Brandon Folsom. You can follow him on Twitter at @folsombrandonj.

Secondly, instead of lumping the 12 or 15 best players at each position into one giant poll, we’ve trimmed the list down to just the top four players. We don’t want this to be a popularity contest this time. It’s all about, truly, who the best players are.

Lastly, we recognize that in a coverage area that features 27 high schools, it wouldn’t be fair for the small schools to be lumped in with the big schools. So you’ll be able to vote for the best big-school player at a position as well as the best small-school player. Big-schools players are in Division 1-5, while small-school players are D-6 through 8-player.

Polls last seven days.

After we decide who the best players are at each position, we’ll take the four most-deserving and have you vote for the Times Herald’s Player of the Year. We’ll also have you vote for the Coach of the Year.

We’re looking forward to seeing your votes over the next three weeks.

Today’s poll is for the top TEs in the Blue Water Area (we didn’t receive enough small-school nominations. By default, Peck’s Kyle Vincent is an All-Area first-teamer):
